Provides secure, remote, collaborative use of instruments and the data collected and related to their use.
It provides this functionality in a resilient, easy to use, manage and setup package. Plug-and-play network appliances form a unified, coherent service cloud that can be securely used by browser delivered tools from anywhere.
Setup in minutes
Setup is a snap, plug-in the appliance to a network and power. Plug-in the video, mouse and keyboard connections to the instrument computer, plug-in any video cameras or other sensors. That’s it.
Use and administration from anywhere
Software tools launched from a browser can be run anywhere to provide secure remote access to the system. There is no installation required for the tools and no restrictive licenses so you are free to collaborate and maximize the value of your lab.
Expand as needed when needed
Add more Symbiotes as needed when needed by just plugging them in – they join the cloud and become part of the whole.
Each added node works with the others providing a scalable and reliable system.
Security – Prevent unintended access
cumulus::CyberLab employs unified role-based access policies that determine who has permission to access instruments, view or change data, and every other function of the system. The use of roles is a powerful paradigm – it allows easy, quick and precise granting of rights.
All transmissions and stored data are encrypted and obfuscated. Stored data can also be fragmented and scattered for ultimate security.
Resiliency – Prevent failure
All data and meta-data in the cloud is redundantly stored with optional replication for disaster resistance and further reliability.
The system employs self-healing that ensures the desired level of redundancy is always maintained further safe-guarding the data.
The system is a distributed collection of loosely coupled nodes working in parallel to provide services. Adding or losing nodes does not disrupt the system. The system scales smoothly as additional nodes provide more I/O, processing and storage.
The tools use multiple pooled connections to provide dynamic fail-over, load-balancing and parallel performance of tasks.
Managed Data – Adding structure and automation
Data is given structure with meta-data tags, access rights, and audit trails. This makes the data searchable, organized and auditable.
The data is stored in fixed-content (WORM) blocks with a digital signature to ensure its integrity. The system actively monitors and ensures data integrity – repairing data if it becomes corrupted.
Retention policies can be defined to ensure out-of-date data is deleted or marked for deletion for regulatory or organizational compliance, best practices and manage increasing data volume.
Block level de-duplication and compression options makes more efficient use of storage and transmission resources by eliminating unnecessary duplicate data
