Value of secure managed storage in the lab

The advantages of secure, managed storage are the catalyst for improved collaboration, productivity, reduced data loss and liability.

Managed data storage provides a way to search and organize data using meaningful tags (topics, descriptors, etc.)  This permits on-the-fly viewing and relating of data making people more productive easily getting data whenever they need it.

The data is stored in fixed-content (WORM) blocks with a digital signature to ensure its integrity.  The system actively monitors and ensures the integrity of the data overtime preventing propagation of corruption or intentional alteration – repairing data if it becomes corrupted.

Retention policies can be defined to ensure out-of-date data is deleted or marked for deletion for regulatory or organizational compliance, best practices and manage increasing data volume.

Block level de-duplication makes more efficient use of storage and transmission resources by ensuring no unnecessary duplicate data (redundancy is maintained).
